Stormentum Announces Development Partnership with a Leading National Residential Solar and Storage Provider

September 2, 2025

Partnership with a top-five U.S. residential solar installer reflects confidence Stormentum’s cellular inverter architecture; partner’s initial economic modeling expected to yield system hardware cost reductions of up to 25–30% versus current market alternatives.

AUSTIN, TX — September 2, 2025— Stormentum, a next-generation energy systems company, today announced a development partnership with one of the nation’s largest residential solar, battery storage, and energy services providers. The agreement, signed in September 2025, will advance the development of Stormentum’s cellular inverter architecture for integration into residential solar-plus-storage systems, marking Stormentum’s first commercial deployment partnership in the residential solar and storage market.

The collaboration reflects both companies’ recognition of a fundamental shift underway in the residential energy market. As battery attach rates increase across all markets — driven by changes to the Solar Investment Tax Credit, evolving tariff structures, increasing outages, and state incentive programs — the industry is redefining itself from solar-centric to storage-centric deployments. Stormentum’s cellular inverter architecture is designed to address this transition directly, replacing multiple purpose-built power electronics systems with a single, software-defined platform that simplifies installation, improves serviceability, and reduces system cost.

The partner’s technical and commercial teams have reviewed Stormentum’s cellular inverter technology and identified potential for significant performance advantages and architectural innovation addressing critical market needs in residential solar-plus-storage systems. The partner’s initial economic modeling demonstrates compelling commercial value, with projected system hardware cost reductions of up to 25–30% compared to current market alternatives while improving system performance. Pilot installations are targeted for 2026, contingent upon successful completion of mutually established readiness criteria.

Under the agreement, the parties will collaborate on technical integration, deployment workflows, and commercial readiness over the coming months, leading to pilot installations within provider’s network and a pathway to a broader commercial agreement upon successful completion

Stormentum’s platform is built on a software-defined, distributed power architecture — inherited from utility-scale power systems and now applied to distributed energy. Where the power electronics industry has traditionally required a different purpose-built system for each application, Stormentum’s patented single architecture serves residential solar and storage and scales into commercial and industrial infrastructure, AI data center power distribution, and bidirectional EV charging.

About Stormentum
Stormentum is building a software-defined, distributed power platform for the electrified, AI-driven era. Its patented Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC) architecture combines distributed power conversion, storage integration, and intelligent control into a unified platform that simplifies how electricity is generated, stored, managed, and delivered. Beginning with residential solar and storage and extending into microgrids, EV infrastructure, AI data centers, and distributed energy systems, Stormentum’s technology reduces system complexity and cost, improve resiliency, and provide a foundation for the next generation of electrical infrastructure.
